EDA provides grants to state and local government, Indian Tribes, Economic Development Districts (EDDs), public and private non-profits, universities and other institutions of higher education to support the development and implementation of economic development strategies for economically distressed communities.

Conservation Fund grants
Through its Resourceful Communities small-grant program, the Creating New Economies Fund, the Conservation Fund provides direct investment in community-based efforts. Seed money supports a range of projects, from eco- and heritage tourism to farmers markets, alternative energy production and more. For details, click here. USDA ReConnect Rural Broadband Program
To give potential applicants adequate time to access technical assistance from USDA staff and its partners, the first application deadline will be pushed back to May 31, 2019 or later. Municipalities,rural electric cooperatives and utilities, internet service providers and telecommunications companies may apply for funding through USDA’s new ReConnect Program to connect rural areas that currently have insufficient broadband service.
